Qualification Criteria for a Medical Marijuana (MMJ) Card in Missouri

For getting a medical marijuana card in Missouri, you need to be a Missouri resident aged 18 or more or emancipated and have a qualifying condition.

Individuals below the age of 18 who aren’t emancipated can also qualify as medical marijuana patients. However, their parent or legal guardian should act as their caregiver & the card will be issued to them, not the patient.

Medical Marijuana Evaluation

If you fulfill the aforementioned criteria, then the next step is to get your medical marijuana evaluation done by a physician licensed in Missouri who offers this evaluation. Applying for the Missouri Medical Cannabis Card

Once the evaluation is done and the Missouri-based doctor provides you the recommendation for a medical cannabis card, then the next step involves visiting the state website (medicalmarijuana.mo.gov) to apply for the card.

It’s mandatory to submit an application on the state website within 30 days of the date mentioned on your recommendation. Once you fill out the application and submit it on the website, the state will have up to 30 days to provide approval for the medical marijuana card.

If there are any discrepancies in your application, then you will receive an Email stating the corrections required. These corrections need to be provided within 10 days of receiving the mail, or else your application will get rejected.

If there are no discrepancies and your application gets approved, then you’ll receive an email mentioning your patient ID. You can take a printout of this, and your medical marijuana card will be ready!

This printout will be all you will need as Missouri state doesn’t issue physical cards to medical marijuana patients.
